Ambulance personnel honored
for saving Hagar Twp. Man

Brian Balow, Executive Director of CEMS, and CEMS Board President
Cassie Sikes presented Star of Life awards to five CEMS members
for saving the life of Vincent Burke on April 20, 2006.
Those receiving the awards were Frank Delatorre, Shawn Smith,
Greg Robinson, Amy Oosterlinck and Cassie Sikes.
Balow reported that Oosterlinck and Sikes were traveling
along Friday Road when they saw a group of people surrounding
a person lying on the ground. The pair responded quickly,
radioed for backup, and basically brought Burke “back
to life.” Burke and his family were present to congratulate
the lifesaving team.
